As Chango probed Teo, the professor focused back on Calder. She retreated up a set of stairs higher into the monument as Daedalus guards pursued her. Her trusty MP5 was silent, its bullets lodged in the bodies of Colonel Ching’s men. Calder was down to her pistol and Teo realized it would be empty soon. Teo watched as Calder hunkered down by a wall for cover. She peeked around the wall and found Ching. She breathed deeply and a sense of calm came over her while bullets smashed the concrete above her head. She took out the magazine from the gun and counted the bullets. Three were left. Teo knew one of those bullets was meant for the Colonel.
